Access the external mySQL database to create, update and delete users though forms on WordPress pages

I have looked around for a WordPress Plugin to manage a divergent group of users. There are three types of users and each of them has a different registration requirement. By using the “standard” plugins, I have to “customise” system to such an extend that it becomes so clumsy and difficult to manage.

I have set up an “external” database with all the “links” to handle the zero-or-one-to-many, one-to-many and many-to-many relationships, which is somehow difficult in WordPress. For that reason, I want to access the external mySQL database to create, update and delete users though forms on WordPress pages.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
