Bitnami WordPress Multisite CSS not rendering on page

I’ve deployed WP Multisite on AWS through a Bitnami virtual image. I’m hosting on subdomains, the main domain is and the subdomain is

CSS does not seem to be rendering, and I noticed on, it may even be issues with the php, as chrome devtools show that the CSS file is recognized (inspect element, click “source”, and it shows styles are being applied and stylesheets are recognized for each element, but the elements don’t appear on the page).

Another thing I noticed is that when I create a new subdomain, initially it renders correctly. Check out, I created that as an example. Once I activate a different theme, the issues occur, and they persist even when I switch back to the default theme.

Here is all the code in my .htaccess file:

RewriteCond %{HTTP:X-Forwarded-Proto} !=https
RewriteRule (.*) https://%{HTTP_HOST}/$1 [R=302,L]
# BEGIN WordPress
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index.php$ - [L]

# add a trailing slash to /wp-admin
RewriteRule ^wp-admin$ wp-admin/ [R=301,L]

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f [OR]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d
RewriteRule ^ - [L]
RewriteRule ^(wp-(content|admin|includes).*) $1 [L]
RewriteRule ^(.*.php)$ $1 [L]
RewriteRule . index.php [L]
# END WordPress

RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^
RewriteRule ^(.*)$$1 [L,NC,QSA]

I read on another forum that Bitnami is configured to look to the httpd-app.conf file for rewrite rules instead of .htaccess, and that I needed to add the rules from .htaccess into httpd-app.conf file, so I’ve done that as well. Didn’t replace any rules in httpd-app.conf, I just added the additional rules towards the bottom. I pushed the changes through FTP, restarted Apache, rebooted the server, no results.

Any insight here? Let me know if you need to see any other code.
