Dynamic custom SEO-friendly URL with ID’s from third party system and WordPress templates

So I’m developing a sort of portal for football with information about games, teams, leagues and so on.
I’ve built a custom backend (Lets call it Football Manager) for handling all the football-data and I’m using WordPress for the presentation and other statical information-sites concerning football.

I now aim to recieve custom (easy editable from Football Manager), SEO-friendly URL:s using the data from Football Manager and templates from WordPress.

My current URL-structure for the football-data is:

https://domain.com/league?league_id=123 where /league is an ordinary WordPress page-template (page-xx.php) and league_id is the ID for the league in Football Manager.

My goal is to achieve:

https://domain.com/leaguename where leaguename is supposed to be editable from Football Manager.

When I say editable from Football Manager I mean that I want to be able to use a input-field in that system and save it in the database somewhere (like permalink-box in WordPress).

As for leagues there are only about 40 or so URL:s that has to work, but the same goes for games and that is now 20.000 and counting.

Every item in Football Manager has an unique ID of course.

I’ve never done anything like this. Can someone help me or point me in the right direction?
