I have a WordPress 3.3.1 blog, and I’m using the Yoast SEO plugin (if that helps).

I went to /wp-admin/options-permalink.php to change the post’s URL to be friendly. It worked perfectly but, when I try to search while I’m at a blog post, I’m redirected to an URL that contains both the blog post URL and my search keyword. For example:

http://myblog.com/post-about-something

Okay, but now I’ll use the sidebar search widget to search for something else. I’m redirected to the following URL:

http://myblog.com/post-about-something?s=something-else

As you can see, it adds to my current URL the search keyword that I searched for, obviously leading to a 404 error.

Has anyone ever experienced this? Is there an explanation for that, and, a solution? Thank you.

I can’t change my permalinks to be any other than %postname%.
