I’m using the plugin Events Manager on my WordPress site. Everything works great, however on the front-end page, there is a table that displays the logged in users created events, with name/date/time. I want to include the corresponding event category as well.

I was advised by the plugin authors I could use get_the_category with the taxonomy event-categories, however I can’t seem to get it to work. I was trying code such as:

<?php global $post; $categories = get_the_category($post->ID); var_dump($event-categories); ?>

…but all that returns is int(0)

I know the category names, slug, term_id, term_taxonomy_id, and taxonomy. I’m just not sure how to pull it all together.

I’m editing the events.php from events-manager/templates/tables.
