I am using WordPress 4.1.1 with BuddyPress 2.2.1 and am trying to move the location icon on the top-right of the “What’s New” box in BuddyPress to bottom left or bottom right. The pieces of code are ( from bp-checkins.js and bpcinstyle.css ).

JavaScript

jQuery(document).ready(function($){
    var position, adresse, buttonAction, geocoder, buttonTitle;
    buttonTitle = bp_checkins_vars.addMapViewTitle;
    $("#whats-new-textarea").append('<a href="#" id="bpci-position-me" title="'+bp_checkins_vars.addCheckinTitle+'"><span>'+bp_checkins_vars.addCheckinTitle+'</span></a>');

CSS

#bpci-position-me span{
    background-image:url(../images/checkin.png);
    width:24px;
    height:24px;
    background-position:0 24px;
    text-indent:-99998px;
    display:inline-block;
}

Instead of append I have tried prepend and various values in the css but it didn’t work.
