Is there a robots meta hook in wordpress?

Searching the web, there are a lot of people suggesting adding the tag directly in the header, or by using one of many plugins that handle that for you.

In my case, yoast is not respecting the settings and our category and tags pages are getting a noodp tag instead of noindex. Who knows why. But due to the size and complexity of the site I can’t just drop plugins, switch themes or whatever, and their support doesn’t really offer much. Surely they tap into the wp_head() somehow and add that tag.

I’d like to avoid multiple robots tags, so I’m looking for a way to hook into the robots tag for certain pages and maybe deregister that tag, process, and add it back in.

Anyone know of a php hook that handles this?
