Logically Structuring Two Categories with the Same Name

I have a website that hosts free resources for all sorts of subjects. For instance, free Math resources. However, there are also articles about Math.

The difference between these two types of categories is quite big.

Math resources: “Free Geometry eBook” and “Boys Can Be Mechanics”

Articles about math: “How to use math manipulatives” and “How to
convince kids to love math”

I really don’t want these two types of posts categorized together. What is the most logical WordPress way to structure this?

Can I make a category archive page for “math” that asks if you want “resources” or “articles” and then filter the posts based on some type of 3rd tag/taxonomy/template?
