I changed the name of my root folder, which had the ‘wordpress’ folder inside it. I added the following lines of code to the wp-config.php file:
define('WP_HOME', 'http://sitename.com'); define('WP_SITEURL', 'http://sitename.com');
I changed ‘site name’ to my URL. This initially worked.
However, I couldn’t access individual pages for shops on my store (I use woocommerce), so I stupidly updated the permalinks via the admin dashboard.
That action has completely broken my website. I go to my server location online, click on the folder which the ‘wordpress’ folder is meant to appear in, and it isn’t there. This means that not only can I not access the website or admin area, it also means that I now don’t even know my website URL. For example, I got to the web address, and this is what appears, where the wordpress folder is meant to be:
When I go into my FTP files, the ‘wordpress’ folder is there with all my contents, but now it doesn’t display on the server at all.
I don’t know how to solve this after trouble shooting.
Any help will be majorly appreciated, currently panicking!
