I have a very large WooCommerce store with 1000’s and 1000’s of products.

Right now I am trying to figure out the best approach for setting up the taxonomy in order to have the site and the db optimized as best it can for performance.

I am applying a taxonomy of “Category > Sub Category > Sub Sub Category”

My question is… is it best practice to place the product in all three categories (Category, Sub Category and Sub Sub Category) or only in the Sub Sub category? By having it in only the Sub Sub Category I would assume that this would make the “Category” Category smaller in size and thus would make the site faster.

If someone could recommend the best approach for site optimization and site speed that would be great!
